Hi there, I’m Janice.

I am a passionate driving instructor dedicated to helping learners become confident and safe drivers.

I grew up in Dublin but spent 24 years living in Celbridge, Co. Kildare. My dream was always to live near the sea, and six years ago, I made it a reality by moving to Kilmuckridge. Although I was commuting to Dublin for work at the time, I realised that I wanted a better work-life balance—something more flexible than the typical 9-to-5. That’s when I decided to pursue my passion for teaching and become my own boss as a driving instructor.

With 33 years of experience as a qualified social care worker, I’ve worked closely with individuals with special needs, both adults and children. Throughout my career, I provided training to staff, and I always found joy in teaching others new skills. My aunt, who was also a driving instructor, shared her enthusiasm for the job, which inspired me to follow this path.

I began my training with Ladybird Driving School during the COVID-19 pandemic and qualified as a driving instructor in November 2020. Since then, my passion for this work has only grown stronger.

I believe that people learn best when they feel relaxed and supported. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming environment in the car, where a bit of humour goes a long way. Every learner is unique, so I take the time to understand their individual learning style and pace. In my car, there are no silly questions—every question matters.

I am fully committed to guiding each learner as they master the skills needed to become safe, confident drivers for life.
